Re: Best place to sell a 190SL

If you search BaT for the 17 190sl's offered since the start of 2018, you'll find that only 2 broke $100k. So were they all in mediocre condition or is that confirming that values have dropped...

Re: Best place to sell a 190SL

Not entirely sure people care so much about valuations from 2000-2010, or even before 2015. I think it would be much more illustrative to just show 2018 & 2019 for those that are considering a sale...

Re: Best place to sell a 190SL

I guess the current market will speak this Aug...Mecum already has (3) 190SL's in their docket and RM has one also.

Re: Best place to sell a 190SL

Consignors I've spoken to want 8% and if the car sits w/o a sale for more than 3 months, then they charge a monthly fee as well.

Best place to sell a 190SL

I've decided to sell my very early 1955 190SL since I never drive it and it should be in the hands of someone who will. So the challenge is where/how to go about the selling process. The major...

I have one, but it's not for sale. What I'm lacking is the correct bracket for this style of bag.

    Re: Flasher relais/ blinker transmitter

My 55 had an aftermarket blinker relay when I acquired it, but when it died I was able to find this period correct unit (on eBay) after a long search. I believe it is functionally equivalent to the...

    Re: Help with Dashboard functions

Perhaps it was a common retrofit back in the day for those very, very early cars after it was adopted by the factory.

    Re: Help with Dashboard functions

What is the Autosport test car page from that shows 261 as first car to gain the hot start? Seems like it might be a good source of early car info.

My data card has 7/13/55 as the production date....

    Re: Help with Dashboard functions

Thanks, but this manual does not appear to cover the hot choke...no such knob in the pics or descriptions (manual pgs 6-9). Note the side by side hot and regular choke knobs in attached photo.

    Re: Help with Dashboard functions

Does anyone have an A owner's manual that can post a pic of the dashboard functions? I only have a later owner's manual which shows the dash functions with a start button.

    My super early 55 has...

    Re: body number on hardtop

When I acquired my early 55 it came with a hardtop, although it's unclear that it came with one from the factory, especially since it doesn't fit particularly well.

    Re: boot snaps

True with one exception...for very early cars, there was a snap on the body just behind the doors. This snap moved from the body to the chrome piece (don't recall its name). During the restoration of...
