Re: Carbs - Solex PHH 44

That’s really strange. My tags are E 14584/1 and E 14584/2. The last number designates proper placement of carburetors 1 and 2. My boxes have those two numbers marked on them. Makes no sense why...

Re: Are these Solex PHH 44 carbs NOS?

    Hi Ramon,

Yes, this is the way they look brand new, even though they have been in their box for years.

    Ramon,

This is a set of NOS that are waiting patiently for me to install on my 1958. Notice the color/brilliance of the metal.

    Hi Roland,

Very interesting find. You certainly have a large collection of carburetors. I’ll be interested to hear what Fritz Wallner knows about the markings. I’m especially interested to find...

    Roland,

How many of your carburetors had the stainless number tag as in the below photograph? John Lewenauer and I have discussed the tags previously. It appears that they were not present on the...

Re: Carbs - Solex PHH 44

I am in the process of cleaning two sets of my used Solex carburetors for eventual sales on EBay and was checking out the various differences in the versions as noted above. I discovered 44PHH...

    Re: Water bag windshield washer

    Martin,

Still special having a 55. I’ve always liked the early tail lights better than those on my 58. Yours fit the design of the fender better. Also the seats are very cool, more sporty. You’ll...

That’s awsome having such a low number. Best of luck locating a black bag.

The folded top is for some reason sitting way too high and the boot was apparently made to fit it. Both are incorrect.

    Francesco,

You are correct in that each of the gauges are mounted with two of the nuts shown in your photo. Years ago I also found a couple of the nuts trapped under the seats. It is my assumption...

I found it interesting that the horizontal area under the cap was originally chrome, the rest being semi-gloss black then it dawned on me that it was likely chromed as the brake fluid is...
