    Re: Ignition Switch Wiring

Does anyone happen to know the transition chassis number when the 190sl went from an 18 mm to 22mm ignition switch?

    Ignition Switch Wiring

After an exhaustive search, I finally came up with an early 18mm Bosch ignition switch (18mm refers to the shaft size that will fit in the dashboard hole). Upon acquiring the switch, I sent it...

    Re: Early 18mm ignition switch

No, I had a frayed wire arching in the switch. I thought they would be able to simply replace the switch and salvage the key mechanism. No dice.

    Early 18mm ignition switch

Mercedes Classic attempted to have my ignition switch rebuilt in Stuttgart. Unfortunately, melted beyond repair. Anybody with one to sell, or a source please PM me. Thanks.

    Re: Early ignition switch w/key.

I contacted the CLASSIC center. They suggested a rebuild in Stuttgart for close to $400. I'm having trouble conceiving how they rebuild a piece of melted balkiite.

  15. Re: Fuel cuts when on Highway and honking horn

Maybe it's the air in New Jersey, my horn had a mind of it's own, honking profusely when hitting a bump. Short in the steering column was the culprit.

Re: Want To Buy a Replacement Windshield

    Tom,
Replacing a windshield is a difficult undertaking so stick with an MB product to avoid an "almost perfect fit" after returing it a few times.
