Re: Introduction.. new 190 owner with pics!

I could dead lift the engine - no trans or accessories attached - and it wasn't too bad. But...this was a number of years ago...I'd ask friend to help! Point being - they aren't too heavy once the...

    Re: cylinder head

If you are in a jam I have a couple 940 heads I think would work on a 61 (940 swap I'll likely never get around to). Somebody here would know better or do a search. It would be a couple weeks...

Re: AL 14" Rims - "Heckflosse" hubcap mounts

Eleven years later....had to replace one of my rims and repeat the job of installing the hubcap posts. Worked perfectly.

    Re: Old Tires

185/80/13s are marginal at best. I would not go any smaller. It will look really bad w/ that much open space in the wheel well and your RPMs will be screaming. Upgrading to 14" rims - which means...
  8. Re: Loaner front hub for Disc Brake Fabrication? Anyone?

I have a set of DISK brake spindles off a 110/111 Heckflosse which will bolt right into a 190SL. You can borrow one of those if it would help. I have a complete 190SL front subframe w/ suspension...

Re: New Store Item - Weber Adapter Plate

I installed these over the weekend - replacing the adapters available from other sources. The fit and install is much easier b/c of the studs for the airlog mounting. The allen head bolts to mount...

Re: 3 Point Seat Belts using B Pillar?

You might want to do some research on 4 point seat belts - most are more prone to submarining and cause abdominal damage.
  11. Re: Anyone have a spare front hub to lend? Front Disc Brakes? Any folks interested?

I suspect that is the 110/111 fintail setup.
  12. Re: Anyone have a spare front hub to lend? Front Disc Brakes? Any folks interested?

You can use the front spindle off a 110/111 chassis sedan instead - complete w/ the ATE caliper, rotor, dust shield etc. The kingpin between the two cars is identical except for the location of the...

Re: Exhaust Manifold and exhaust system

I have the SS exhaust system - I wouldn't get it again. The sound is completely wrong. Otherwise - the fit and install was simple enough.
  16. Re: Vendor for braided stainless steel brake hoses

I have my lines installed and bled - haven't driven the car yet as I have a few more maintenance items while the car is on the lift.

Procedure is different if you have a .921 vs. .928 engine. Both have been documented in numerous posts - try searching. The tech section of the website may have the official procedure also.

Re: Brake booster bleed valve snapped off

The ATE T50 manuals I've found indicate both screws are the same - but that may not be accurate. I did find some parts sources confirming M8. The bleed screw I'm replacing is longer LOA by 8mm then...

Do you have a source for both of the bleed screws on the booster? I need to replace the upper one on my booster.
  22. Re: Vendor for braided stainless steel brake hoses

I'm not sure if MB changed part #s or the spec at some point but the RIGHT REAR line I just removed is 20mm longer then the ATE document states. May not matter but longer is better then shorter IMO....
  23. Re: Vendor for braided stainless steel brake hoses

  24. Re: Vendor for braided stainless steel brake hoses

    Greg -

Thanks - I was thinking there was only one soft line at the rear and then hard lines to each side. With the MB split/swing axles that clearly wouldn't work. I must be confused with...
  25. Vendor for braided stainless steel brake hoses
