    Early firewall insulation templates

    Hello All,

I didn't know how to get these to the group for posting on the Tech Page.

I was very fortunate to have my original upper firewall jute intact when I took my car apart. I had my metrology lab scan them and produce a 3D rendering. I have created a full size PDF file for the pads for anyone who might want to cut new ones.

I also have a DFX file if some wants them.

    Here are the PDFs

    Excellent Gerry,
This should help quite a few people.

    Thanks Marc,

Here is a picture of what the software sees when it creates the 3D image from the laser scanning. All the engineers will appreciate this.

Upload the dfx files and I'll put them on the Tech page.

These look the same as what's shown in the D parts catalog, which would seem to indicate that they're for later cars...at least not the very early ones which I thought had entirely different cut out requirements. Can you provide any guidance? Unfortunately, the previous owner who had the car `restored' did not put ANY insulation pads in the car so I'm trying to start from scratch.

    Dino,

My car is a early 56 6500870 I think it is one of the first 2500 cars built. I know the files I provided were from original pads to my car. I cannot comment on when the pads changed to the ones I posted.
