    A Sandcast Dream...

    Hello all,

just wanted to share with you what I could
pick today...this is a very special day for me after an
    intensive search...

Original pair of Solex Sandcast Carbs with matching air tube.
They are very close to be “to original and vintage to rebuild” :-)

But I need them for my engine...here some pictures

    Regards Martin

Congratulations Martin, a very nice find indeed. Are you rebuilding them yourself?

    Hi Marc,

Yes I will do it myself...they are not too bad.
But first I have to do quite some research
about how the finish of the single components should be.

It is very positive that they are complete. But I figured out that
I got 2 different carbs...one is stamped “made in france” the other one
not...and they have two different tops...see pictures...

    Martin,
I would first give them a cleanup so you can see past the grime. There are also some differences on the later diecast carbs between #1 and #2 so these may still be correct.

On this Will Samples video there is a comment about the center vent plug about one minunte in and an indication he may have a supply of covers. On another video I watched, the front carb had the extra plug and who knows, they may have come that way.
