    Soft Top Color

I would appreciate any comments as to the "correct" soft top color. My 1960 190 is white with a parchment interior. The Mercedes build data sheet does not show a soft top color. I'm trying to restore the car so it is reasonably close to original. I have seen a lot of pictures of white cars with black tops in the 190 club magazine. I'm wondering if all of the white cars came with black tops or whether they may have come with other color tops too. I am also considering brown or tan, but if all or most of the white cars came with black tops i'll probably stick with that. Thanks for your thoughts.

what year is your car? Are you sure your data card doesn't show the top color? You could choose any color you wanted at the time. Post a copy of your data card if you can.

OK - This is my first time trying to upload to the club tech site, so I hope this works. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Forgot to reply to the year question. Late model 1959, originally sold as a 1960.

Well, I guess the data card doesn't show the Teppich (soft top) color like my larger '61 data card does (but, that seems weird). Either way, put on any color you like, you could have ordered it that way.

My data sheet shows "Verdeck" (translated, roof). "Gummi Stoff" , (translated, Rubber fabric), "Schwarz 872" (translated, black)

Thanks for your help. Guess I'm leaning towards brown or black. It's good to know that either could have been ordered as OEM.
