    Need help with American muscle

    Hello all,

I have stumbled on the opportunity to purchase a 1964 GTO tri power 4 speed. The car was originally a GTO 4 barrel, auto. The owner is friend of mine and he is selling to fund a house build. The car is fully painted and partially assembled. He has all the new parts with just a few missing small items.

I am wondering what a car like this is worth. I see a wide rage of pricing online.

    Anyone with American muscle knowledge?

    Thanks

    Gary,

    I have a 67 GTO so I think a solid number 3 car would be mid 30ís

You can also look at Hagerty. https://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools You can get basic info without signing up. If you want more detail, you will have to register. You do not have to buy their insurance in order to look at the values.

I think you'll find that some of this stuff has cooled off ... I'm thinking 25-30 especially because it's disassembled. We are in the midst of a generational shift in the market in general and especially as it relates to muscle. Supply and demand and folks buying today don't generally want projects.

    Hello Bryan,

You are right where my research has shown. I am looking for a new project so that it is not assembled is OK with me. I am trying to see if it is a losing money venture at the end. I have him down to 24K including all his parts and the remaining bright work needed. The current owner is the owner of the chrome shop that did my 190sl bright work so that is a big extra.

I am just trying to figure out what an assembled car is worth. I am figuring at worst case my time is free.
