    Cold call from new member

I have received several emails and phone calls about the unsolicited calls to purchase our cars. DO NOT RESPOND. If you are interested in selling your car there are viable organizations to utilize. Call one of the club sponsors; use our forum but do not trust an unsolicited phone call and do not send them pictures.

This includes: Mal Wallace, 443 400 9119 (Brookland MD on caller ID). He called Me, Steve Brooks and others.

He apparently is using our club roster to obtain phone numbers against the club policy and by-laws. DO NOT do business with him.

My phone # isn't in my profile, so how did this guy get my number to call me?

I, too, received a voice message from "Larry" with the same request. Did not return the call. The call came to my fax/answering machine which we never answer.

Just found a message from old Larry myself on my answering machine that we rarely check. Same number, same story-wants any old Mercedes.

    Ha! He called again!

I was home and recognized the number. Answered with "Hey, Larry, I was wondering when you were going to call!"

The discussion was pretty short. I told him he was becoming notorious for his abuse of the roster and that he was not ever a club member. He sputtered a little bit and hung up. I had fun while it lasted.

I heard from him this past Tuesday. Only wants rebuildable cars. Not interested in a restored vehicle. I wonder if he is trying to build up a used parts inventory?

Re: Cold call from new member

I decided to answer the phone to tell him to stop calling me. Larry claims he has not been constantly calling my number and I explained my call log indicates otherwise. He then got pissed and asked why I didn’t just answer and tell him to stop calling. I explained that’s what I was doing right now....and I may have questioned his intelligence level for his inability recognizing I was doing exactly that. I was then called several four letter words, he insulted our “little” club with more profanity, and hung up. Pure class that guy.
