    Post a picture(s) of your 190 SL

While there are many pictures of our cars scattered about the forum, I thought with the new software, this would be a nice opportunity to start a thread where we all could post pictures of our 190 SLs with a short description. This thread will be a "sticky," so it will always be at the beginning of the General Discussion forum. You can post up to ten pictures per post. I'll begin, even though I'm sure everyone is tired of seeing my car. 1961 190 SL, I'm third owner, DB317 Greyblue w/1068 Natural Roser Leder interior. See more pictures here.

the insurance company wanted some pictures for their files so this was a good excuse to go out first time for a few months; looking forward to getting the hardtop off again.

    My 190 SL. Travel back

My 190 SL was built in June 14th 1962.Imported to US (through New York) in 1963. The second owner did an important body restoration and painted the car in silver (originally was DB334)metallic, with blue leather (not a bad combo!). I bought it in September 2005 thanks to the generous help of Larry Rotta. After two risky transports (Michigan to NY and vessel to Spain) I saw my baby for the first time in December 2005. Last year I made an important renovation of whole brake system, the suspension, engine bay detailing, full solex renovation and adjustments...Now I enjoy the beauty and the mechanical perfection. In the last 15 years the car got 7000 miles in the clock.

I also have an original USA spec 1962 190SL which I just brought to Spain last month. I am looking for recommendations on mechanics as well as specialists in carpeting and leather work. Do you have any contacts in Spain? If so, I would be very grateful to receive them. - Robert, kulewicz@mac.com

Here are some pictures of my car right after it finally made it to my house for the first time. These were back in December- no snow and green grass in Boston then, but we got about 4 inches of snow earlier this week (almost gone now).

The car looks better in the pictures than in person. It's yellow right now but I plan to repaint it to the original colors (black body and white gray top) in the Fall.

Some mechanical issues to address before then as well as some weak frame problems. It'll be a busy summer.

"Tune-up School for Dummies" was a great inspiration- now I know what the car's supposed to look like! Thanks again to everyone that made it happen!

My car, ma voiture, мой автомобиль, mein auto...

Many thanks to Bruce Adams, Dave Polny, John Lewenauer, Bill Johnson, Steve Smith, and Alex Dearborn for all of their help, advice and guidance in my quest to find a great car.

Backstory: Dr. Philip Lutfy, at 42,591 original miles according to the title, restored 1210407502900 (engine # 7502902) to like new condition by 1994. The odometer, ostensibly reset, read 703 miles when sold to the owner before me - a gentleman who bought the car for his wife, who then reportedly only drove it twice. Needless to say, I'm a happy camper!
