    Bill,

I'm up in Topsfield and would love to get together at some point. I will PM you.

    Dave,

Good idea. Two of my cars are still in winter storage; when they come out I'll have to do a family shot.

Here are some of my '60. These people helped me with a flat. Nice folks, but overdressed.

The reflecting sunset is a particularly nice touch!

I found this one on the web somewhere. I'm thinking DB396? Different, but also kinda neat...

My car, ma voiture, мой автомобиль, mein auto...

Many thanks to Bruce Adams, Dave Polny, John Lewenauer, Bill Johnson, Steve Smith, and Alex Dearborn for all of their help, advice and guidance in my quest to find a great car.

Backstory: Dr. Philip Lutfy, at 42,591 original miles according to the title, restored 1210407502900 (engine # 7502902) to like new condition by 1994. The odometer, ostensibly reset, read 703 miles when sold to the owner before me - a gentleman who bought the car for his wife, who then reportedly only drove it twice. Needless to say, I'm a happy camper!

    The 'Old Girl'

    Well, here's my 1961 190sl...
Although I've owned her since 1980, she's geen garaged since 1984 and I've just started a complete restoration.

Currently, she's stripped down to a bare 'rolling body/chassis' with all the chrome removed and away for replating, the body has been steam cleaned and is being moved to a (professional I'm afraid) bodyshop next week, whilst I concentrate on the mechanics & engine rebuild.

I'll post/change pictures as the restoration progresses...

OK guys and gals we all know you have a 190SL hidden there somewhere. Get it up on the board so we can all see. I have very much enjoyed looking at the ones posted so far.

    Before, during and after

Alright, here ya go. Before, during and after. As many of you can relate, these cars don't just happen by themselves. I got LOTS of help, especially from my dad, "The Master." It has been a family affair for over a half a century. This car has been with us about half that time. He has slept a lot, too. Between working, running a business, family, I have had scant little time to devote to my "Frankie." Frankie has been assembled from lots of used, new and nos parts. I collected parts for many years and many parts fought with me. It often took several parts to find one that fit just right. He has *ALL* our little mods and tricks to make him easy to keep. It has been a long process, still not all done, but he starts every time now!

    Walt,
What you’ve done with “Frankie” is more of a Resurrection that a Restoration. Your car had some very very humble beginnings.
