Bill: That "guest weighing" can be so unfair. Two years ago, those yappy little chihuahuas partied all night. I kept stepping on them on the golf course and I'll bet half of them were here illegally. To think they got such a break on room rates. There's no justice in this world.

    Bill,
Can you please give me a rough idea of the schedule of the activities for the three days?
I have never attended one of these conventions and would love to attend.

While each convention has it's own local twist, there is a similar format to all of them. Take a look at this link and click on some of the other conventions to see pictures and activities. You'll have a great time.

    Hi John,
At the moment we are in the process of tying down a few of the final details. The convention registration form will be included in the next club newsletter and will also be posted online for viewing/download. This will include a more comprehensive list of activities and schedule.
As John L. mentioned, you can get a general idea of the activities from the past events. One of the highlights this year will be a tour of the new MB Classic Center here in Irvine, which will be opening it's facility to us. We'll also be including a private car collection tour in the area, a walking tour of the San Juan Capistrano Mission, along with drives/rally along Pacific Coast Highway. Thursday evening will include a welcome reception at the Aliso Creek Inn hotel, Friday afternoon/evening we'll be having a beach party at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point and Saturday will include the Concours and evening banquet, auction and award ceremonies.
The 3 day "After the Ball" tour will take those participating, north to Santa Barbara, Cambria and Carmel Valley, via Hwy 1, with stops at Hearst Castle, Point Sur light House and other points of interest along the way.
It's shaping up well, really just need a few more days to pack in all of the activities!
hope to see you there, Bill

Bill, Do we have to empty our pockets when we leave the Classic Center? If not I'm sure the trip would be worth it. Ah, a new set of Fog Lights. Can't wait.

I am trying to talk Tom Hansen at the Classic Center into offering a one minute parts dept. shopping spree. I know I could do some serious damage in that amount of time - somehow I don't think it'll fly

I think I paid for our registrations at the Company Store website, but until I have a written receipt in hand, I won't know for sure.

    Trailer Storage

An update on trailer storage during the convention.
The Aliso Creek Inn has agreed to offer storage for 5-7 car trailers (depending on size) in their back lot area. Cost would be $50 total, which would allow storage from 9/24 - 10/2 (convention thru after-the-ball) One stipulation is, they (the hotel) will need to move the trailers to the back lot area for insurance purposes. This will be offered on a first-come first-serve basis as we have had several registered members note that they will be bringing a trailer. We can take care of storage payment at the convention.

    RON in Omaha

If any of you "Road Warriors" (Explorers?) plan to pass through Omaha on your way to Laguna Beach, I'd really like to meet you. If you're just stopping for gas, lunch, or the night, perhaps we could get together. I'm not able to make it to Laguna which is particularly disappointing since I have two daughters living in So. Cal. and lived most of my life in Redondo Beach. Perhaps next year where ever the convention might be.

    Concours Judging Instructions

Attached are a set of the recently updated judging sheets and instructions.
For those that are interested in judging this year (or showing), you may want to download the PDFs to get familiar with the categories, terminology and point system.
