    Hotel Room

    Gary,

How did you get the discount for the Sunday? I just reserved a room and they wouldn't change the rate for the extra day (it goes up to $125).

It has been pointed out to me that the original curriculum PDF in the first post showed Sunday as Feb 11th. This is an error, Sunday is Feb 10th, and has been corrected. The tech session runs from Friday, Feb 8th to noon, Sunday, Feb 10th.

Just a note...the preferred group rate of $85/nite at the Courtyard Marriott ends in two weeks on Jan. 15.

    Looking forward to seeing everyone!

    Hotel shuttle from airport

The hotel does have a free shuttle to/from the Milwaukee airport but you need to make a reservation. They suggested making the reservation a week in advance.

Thanks Steve. And with the group coming they can plan their runs accordingly.

Warning: Only one week left to make reservations at the $85 rate, before it goes to $125/nite.

Also, with 9 spaces left, it would be a good idea, for those who haven't, to send in their registration fee to confirm their space.

Dinner is planned for around 7 P.M. You should be at your hotel by 6 without complications. We'll leave contact phone numbers and maps at the hotel.

I was curious if any of the attendees who were flying /and or driving from the Chicago area had to leave earlier on Sunday (Feb 10th) to catch a flight/or get home to the Chicago/O'Hare area by or before noon that day. Turns out my nephew is receiving his Eagle Scout award that day in Chicago and my brother and his family want me to present it to him since I'm the only Eagle Scout in our family. So I'm getting a "two-fer" for the weekend!! I have lots of options either with earlier flights, renting car etc. that I'm exploring but thought I'd at least check to see if someones plans already required them to be there anyway and wanted to share a ride or something. My only regret is I'm going to miss some of morning sessions at Wintertech!! I still have to fly out to Sacramento late that evening believe it or not to make work Monday! So if anyones plans are already taking them my way and want some company, let me know. Mike

Updated registration. If you have paid and it is not reflected, please contact me. Hotel rate at $85 expires TOMORROW. Things are coming together very nicely and it looks like we're going to have an excellent group of seasoned and new event members. In case it wasn't mentioned, dress is casual for all events although your tech session clothes might get dirty.

I will have maps at the hotel for participants as well as phone numbers to contact me or the shop. For those not renting cars, try to hook up with a member who's driving at the hotel. Two loaners may be possible from the shop. I'll have room for three. If all else fails, a couple of car rental agencies are very near the hotel.

    I just signed up

I must be crazy---paying to go to a blizzard.

Will I meet an Eskimo? Then it would be worth it!

John L. promised me I would meet this gal, if I came. I am on my way!

    Important observations:
Is her slip showing or is that a ruffle?
I think I see frostbites on her knees.
Her mouth is open, so there should be that cold vapor showing.
I thought no two snowflakes are alike but it looks like two are!

    I messed up

My wife just reminded me I am in a big tennis tournament that same weekend.

And I just got done with all my reservations to. Bummer.

Tennis is my main hobby right now, and this is a big event.

Paul .... You need to meet Bruce who is also a tennis nut. You will be missing WinterTech for a tournament; Bruce will be missing the Laguna Convention because he is the director of a tournament. Maybe we need to add tennis as an activity at our conventions.
