I'm glad you did ask, because I meant to post this and forgot. Attire is whatever you are comfortable in for both evenings. We have a private room at the restaurant and the club to ourselves on Sat. Jeans are fine as is anything else. You just might want a change of clothes in case you get dirty at the shop. Temperatures outside will be 20s to 30s, it seems.

    Weather update:

    Snow today, ending early evening
Cold moving in. Cold weekend, high of 25 Sat., 14 Sun. I suggest a hat and gloves, however the drives are short and you won't be outside long by necessity.

There should be no issues with planes arriving Fri. and departing Sun.

For those arriving by air, be sure to call the hotel at 414-355-7500 and give them your arrival and flight information if you need their shuttle service.

Looking forward to a great weekend.

Since the question has come up a couple of times, Black Forest (the shop) is where members should come to after checking into the hotel. Maps will be at the hotel for all destinations. Your registration materials and name tags will be at Black Forest and you will want to pick them up before Saturday's events. Please come by the shop before dinner (7 PM), you'll have fun visiting with other members and talking with the staff of Black Forest.

    Winter Tech weather

I understand that you guys got 18 inches of snow today and they have shut down a lot of places. Will this affect Winter Tech.

We call that a dusting, Dean You get your butt up here.

To listen to the weather channel you'd think the world came to an end. I went to work this AM, 15 miles and came home at the height of the storm in the afternoon. This will have no effect on WinterTech. The airport is open, the storm has passed, my driveway is snowblown and the streets are plowed. By the time you all arrive, everything will be very clear. We're expecting light snow, not even an inch and cold over the Tech weekend. Perfect for what we're doing. Just bring a jacket, gloves and perhaps a hat. The drives are short, 8 minutes or less. Besides, I arranged this...the guys who don't see snow, said they wanted to see some. They will.

That said, here's a picture looking at my back deck before snowblowing.

Your word on it is good enough for me. I'll see you Friday or if it takes me a little longer because of the snow Saturday.

I understand the airport was closed but has now reopened. I don't believe anyone is flying into MKE on Thur. Fri. should be fine. Freeways are clear and down to the pavement, at least from my house to downtown, 15 miles. Downtown city streets are snow covered, but passable without issue. So, I don't see any issues and for people coming from the SE, I think you're in good shape. Looking out my window here in the office, the freeways are all too the pavement. In the neighborhood where our activites will be, there is no issue. Have a safe drive!

Have Jim & Robby bring me back a snow flake. It was 80 degrees here yesterday. The Daffodils are starting to come up. :-)))) Spring is just around the corner.

Take lots of notes and pictures for those of us who would love to be with you but just don't have the proper winter clothes.

Will do Jack. The three CA guys are here and smiling. Not sure if they're shivering or not though.

    tennis

I had to cancel due to a pro tennis match I was in.

I won the match today, against a current #27 in the USA USTA player!

I was very surprised to win. It was the first tennis prize money I ever won.

    Sorry I missed the convention....

Next time please have wintertech in Florida and summertech in Wisconsin!
