Jim and Robby, I'll call you Friday evening to see if we are close together in Iowa. I have to get past the latest potential trip killer -- a last minute discovery of a leaking master cylinder or booster. Looks like I may not leave until Wednesday.

My cell is 978-460-2768. GO GREEN!

Just carry an extra quart of brake fluid.

Sage advice from Robby. If it's the booster, just plug the vacuum line by the battery. No point in letting the booster ruin your trip.

Does that mean I can jettison the booster to reduce weight!

Rhett .... Sure, who needs a booster. I drove for 10 years without one. My current booster may or may not work, who knows. When in doubt, just plug the vacuum hose.

Actually, the booster does impact the braking pedal pressure. I always wondered about this; one day I turned off the engine on a steep curving road to see how much difference it made. Next thing, my steering wheel locked! And pedal pressure for a panic stop was a lot harder!

So where is everybody? It's Sept. 4 and I'm in a motel in Las Vegas. Took 6 hours from San Diego. Sat. night will be in Fillmore, Utah, next night Pocatello, Idaho and night after that in Yellowstone.
Where are you, Robby Ackerman and Jim Villers?

Jim, Betty, Ellis & Margaret, Rhett and Susan and I are somewhere in Nebraska tonight ... Maybe North Platte ... yes, that's what the phone directory says. Susan and I have had a wonderful trip so far. We traveled US 30 across Iowa and into Nebraska today, and it was just the last 30 minutes or so that we haven't seen a grain elevator on the horizon. I think Jim has been posting pictures somewhere on the forum.

We are now in Pocatello, Idaho and expect to hit Yellowstone tomorrow. We are pleasantly surprised at light traffic and good weather. Actually less humid than San Diego was, very comfortable. When it's in the 80's and not humid, it feels good, as in Park City, Utah this morning.

    Hi Helen,
You must have passed us on the 15. We stayed in Las Vegas last night (Red Rock area-wallet still intact) took a look at Zion National Park on our way through, incredible views, and are staying tonight in Ogden, UT. Will be meeting up with Tom Hanson from the Classic Center tomorrow (he just pulled into in Salt Lake City) and will be caravaning in. Mapquest says 5.5 hours. Should be in Yellowstone around 3:00 or so.

We are in Idaho Falls this evening and plan to arrive in Yellowstone Monday afternoon. We are enjoying our leisurely trip up I-15. Left Tucson and stayed in Laughlin Nevada (no we didn't win any money!), Leeds Utah and Salt Lake on the way here. We are driving our motor home pulling a big trailer, so if you get stuck behind us for a short while going up the hill on US-20, don't get too impatient...

    See you all tomorrow,

    Pete S.

Robby and I are in Casper WY and will be heading in today after re-jetting our webers for the altitude. I am not sure of all the issues until I test some things; front is lean, rear is rich.

See you all late this afternoon.

I caught up on my sleep last night, Pocatello, Idaho. Hard to find anything but fast food here last night. Finally found an IHOP near motel that offered a "second meal free" to seniors so I had free tilapia. Sometimes it's OK to be old. But not often. Should get to Yellowstone today.
