I am not sure, but I will guess the tank liner finally failed. Just GasTankReNu.com it and be happy....

Looks like caustic left over from the cat cracker in refining the gas. So probably probably
a bad batch batch of gas from the bottem of the gas station tank

    Walter,
Inside of the tank is like new. I dropped the tank a while back and cleaned it out, because I thought one of the vents were blocked. Inspected the inside of the tank and flushed out entire system. Car ran great until the last tank of fuel........dave

    Nick,
Thanks, I feel the same way you do........something was pumped into the tank from the underground storage tank....I am looking for a local lab that could test the gasoline to see what is actually contaminated with............will let you know as soon as I know.........................dave

Dave , if you take the bad gas back to the supplier you will be doing him a favor , better he knows of this issue before other vechicals are effected. I see more of this caustic residue in premium fuel than in any other fuel. I do contract work lab testing fuel for two
    different oil companies.

    Nick,
The location is a mini-market that sells gas......Would I be better served to try and get a hold of the "Gasoline" parent company then through the seller........I want to follow through on this for my customer as he is the victim of this. Fixing the problem is a pain but paying for the gas and then paying for the repair is unfair to him.......................dave

    Hi Dave,

I don't know how the gas retail busness works in the U.S. In Canada many of the independants buy from several different suppliers. I would start at the mini-mart.
It would help if your customer had a receipt showing date and time so they could trace
    when the "batch" was delivered.

    Nick,
The company denied any claim that it came from their tanks, even after the owner showed receipts for fuel. He received the complete run around. Cleaned out the fuel system, installed a new filter and gas, car runs fantastic. thanks for your assistance
