    What the heck is this?

Anyone ever seen this carb setup? The car's for sale on eBay.
At least the guy didn't claim that everything was original.

Musta been the Red Baron's wheels ...

I like the idea of kick-panels on the lower front of the door - I'm constantly whacking mine. Cute center console ... I might borrow the idea using the license plate light when I get around to building mine, but I'll put it inside to light up when the lid is popped.

The groovy shag carpet adds a nice "Austin Powers" kind of feel to the car too! An 8-Track tape deck would really complete the look.
Still wondering what kind of Carbs it has.

Reserve not met at $21K. Emmm.....

It looks typical for a 190SL in the late 1970s / early 80s. The car was only worth a few thousand then with really nice examples around $4K or $5K (those were the days!) You simply did not spend big bux on them. I got my empty chassis with 200 engine for $1200 and later a lot of the rest of the missing parts for small money. (I only got my car because I knew I could put it together with all the parts we had, so it was worth it in a way. Today, though, not on your life!)

This car will need lots of TLC. If you are handy, this is a car for you as you can fix up things as you go. I "KNOW" the car will need more than the master cylinder they installed. The brakes will not hold long. Ditto the gas tank. And so on. So expect a bunch of little stuff to do. It shows typical rust which even comes here in California.

I think it would be a great first 190SL for someone to have fun with but know you are going to fixing lots of stuff. BUT, the missing soft top and the funky engine are major detractors. The interior you can live with as you slowly redo it. Ditto the body work.

Proof is in the pudding and someone, as always, would need to closely poke at that car.

What is the real market value for a car like that today?
