    2011 Convention - Air Travel

If you plan to travel to the 2011 Convention by air, there are several options available to you:

If you are planning to only attend the convention
You may fly into Charlottesville, Virginia (CHO), with direct flights from Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington, D.C. (Dulles), Philadelphia, New York (LaGuardia) and Detroit. CHO is serviced by Delta, United and US Airways.

The airport is located 10 miles from The Boars Head Inn - about a 20 minute drive. Complimentary shuttle transportation between the airport and The Boars Head Inn may be available by pre-appointment between 7:30am and 10:30pm daily. To arrange for a shuttle, call (800) 476-1988 or email contactus@boarsheadinn.com .

You may also want to compare airfares with the following alternative airports (which will all require a rental car):
    1. Richmond, Virginia (RIC) – approximately a 1 hour 30 minute drive to The Boars Head Inn.
    2. Washington Dulles (IAD) – approximately 2 hours 15 minutes to The Boars Head Inn.
    3. Baltimore-Washington (BWI) – although the furthest away, sometimes you can get really good airfares cross-country to BWI, but you will have a 3 hour 10 minute drive to The Boars Head Inn.

If you choose to fly into the Washington/Baltimore area, be wary of work-week rush-hour traffic.

If you are planning to attend the convention and only the Before the Ball tour
    1. Fly in to Richmond, Virginia (RIC) and you will only have about a 45-minute drive to Williamsburg. The return drive from Charlottesville to Richmond is about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
    2. Fly in to Washington Dulles (IAD) and you will have a 3-hour drive to Williamsburg. The return drive from Charlottesville to Dulles is about 2 hours and 15 minutes.
    3. Fly in to Baltimore-Washington (BWI) and you will have a 3-hour and 30 minute drive to Williamsburg. The return drive from Charlottesville to BWI is about 3 hour and 10 minutes.

If you are planning to attend the convention and only the After the Ball tour
    1. Fly in to Washington Dulles (IAD) and you will have approximately a 2 hours 15 minute drive to Charlottesville, and the return trip is a very short distance from Manassas or Washington, D.C.
    2. Fly in to Baltimore-Washington (BWI) and you will have a 3-hour and 10 minute drive to Charlottesville, and an approximate 1-hour drive from the Manassas and Washington area.

If you are planning to attend the convention and both the Before the Ball and After the Ball tours
    1. Fly into Richmond, Virginia (RIC) and you will only have about a 45-minute drive to Williamsburg. The return drive from Manassas or Washington, D.C. is about 2 hours.
    2. Fly in to Washington Dulles (IAD) and you will have a 3-hour drive to Williamsburg; however, the return trip is a very short distance from Manassas or Washington, D.C.
    3. Fly in to Baltimore-Washington (BWI) and you will have a 3-hour and 30 minute drive to Williamsburg, and an approximate 1-hour drive from the Manassas and Washington area.
