    Sports Car Rentals

For those of you that will not be bringing your 190SL to the convention, I wanted to make you aware of an alternate to driving a rental car during our driving tours on Wednesday and Thursday (as well as the entire convention dates, and/or both the Before the Ball and After the Ball tours).

There is company just outside Charlottesville called Sports Car Rentals (www.sportscarrentals.com) that rents sports cars by the day or week, and arranges tours to enjoy many of the same roads and destinations that we will visit. The current stable of available cars includes:
    • 1978 Alpha Romeo
    • 1959 MGA
    • 1973 MGB
    • 1960 Triumph TR3
    • 1972 Triumph Spitfire
    • Triumph TR6
    • Jaguar XK150 (possibly)

The cars normally rent for $110 per day ($210 for the weekend), but we have secured a preferred rate of $100 per day and $550 for seven days. The cars are available on a first come, first served basis – so make your reservation now by calling John Pollock at (434) 823-4442 or through the web address shown above.

The cars can either be brought to the airport, or delivered to The Boars Head Inn; however, please note that the trunk space on these cars is almost nonexistent, so you may need other transportation or arrangements for your luggage.

As Crosby, Stills & Nash immortalized in their song, Love the One Your With, if you can’t be with the one you love (your 190SL), then enjoy the convention with one of these other great cars.
