    Popped the center plate off by making a hook and pulling from one of the two holes. Came off easily. No risk to the plate.

    Thanks for responding. My car is a '60. Tried the rod through the back of the wheel, but never seemed to find the 'sweet' spot. Where should the hole be relative to vertical?

    Plastic center star popped right off. Held on by 2 sided tape. How does the round metal plate with the 2 holes come off? Tried to push it off with a rod through the hole in the back of the wheel...
